Life has been feeling really hectic for me as of late with the endless list of things to get done and the increasing demands from everyone around me. I’ve been deeply yearning for a break, some time to relax and reset. Sometimes you just need a time-out, you know? Check yourself before you wreck yourself, you feel me?
Considering that it is the busy holiday season and most of us are feeling the pressure to please, I am sure most of you can all relate. I’ve strayed very far away from my self-care rituals, and my body has definitely been feeling the neglect. With 2019 only a couple of weeks away, I really want to get back into my self-care habits, so I can feel more energized, refreshed and productive.
Today I decided to do something nice for myself that I haven’t done in a long time. I put together this lovely Rosemary Herbal Hair Rinse in an attempt to tame my wild tresses (and to just bask in the glorious scent of rosemary!). I had some leftover rosemary in my fridge that was starting to turn brown, so I decided to salvage what was left of it and turn it into this beautiful hair rinse.
When making this, your entire home will smell like rosemary. It is quite magical. I think rosemary might be one of my favourite scents. Rosemary has so many health benefits for the body, and hair. It draws circulation to the scalp to help encourage hair growth. Additionally, rosemary helps to clarify the scalp and also helps make the hair thicker, and shinier. I think this hair rinse is especially beneficial for folks with oilier scalps. My scalp is definitely more on the oily side. I find that this hair rinse really helps to rebalance the pH of my scalp and brings it back to normal. Not to mention, my hair is so lustrous and smells of rosemary for days afterwards.
Amidst the hustle & bustle of the crazy holiday season, I encourage you to to take some time for yourself. To care for yourself. Be gentle & kind to yourself. The more we love ourselves, the more love we have to give others. <3
I am planning on creating more self-care rituals for this blog in the New Year. Personal wellness has always been a big part of my life, and it is something I am truly passionate about. Maybe I will do a post about my wellness journey one of these days, so you can get an idea of where I’m coming from, and where I am at now. Stay tuned!
